Tommy Roy '81 Inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame
The Upsilon Alpha chapter of the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta congratulates fellow Fiji Brother Tommy Roy (Arizona ‘81) on his induction into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Tommy, who grew up in Arizona, has won 29 Emmys for NBA, NFL, golf and Olympics coverage. He is recognized as a giant in the world of sports broadcasting as he has brought many of the biggest moments in sports into our lives over a career that spans more than 40 years. Tommy has produced Super Bowls, NBA Finals, major venues at the Olympics, Wimbledon, the French Open, the Triple Crown, NASCAR’s Daytona 500, and of course almost every major golf tournament the sport has known. Tommy may be best known for taking the dull and boring way golf broadcasting was done in the old days and changing it into the exciting format that we see today.
